Espia Como Puedas
La Sexta 3, Sabado -/- Samedi -/- on Saturday 21. Enero 2012.
Comedy with Leslie Nielsen and others, e.g. "Weird Al Jankovic" written like similar and a few babes. Movies with Leslie Nielsen are always good to relax a bit in front of the tv, and however childish they appear, are fun to watch. The one snapped is not too much of a special, or to give a reply to the unposed question why treated like that. Another detail jumped into mind, explaining why caring just a little bit about this one in particular (by the way as a person having always liked watching Nielsen can't i remember having seen before). A typical movie for the actor, a lot was taken from police squad (naked gun in german cinemas). A mere conclusion in between the lines cares about Priscilla Presley, Scientology, not part of this, but worth recapturing for few moments only. She must have been completely apathic at the sets, never realized before, by that Nielsen did a very good thing and us to remind.
With respect to the action itself, let's take the start scene (how surprising). A helicopter is shown, with a paratrooper jumping out, who (Nielsen) has time for a glass of champagne, which is always available for a pro like him, while in the air still and watching his victim just exploded. Lots of elements are well known from the police squad lineup, but everybody is aware how american movies copy themselves as often they can. A good example for is the scene copying John Travolta dancing in Pulp Fiction. Could be Nielsen and him were not that good of friends anymore, kind of the rest of the movie gives an idea Nielsen was aware that Travolta would hunt for him from then on. However, his enemies always get six-feet-under, by accident or by reason and as just a kind of smart preparation. What it meant for the so called church some of his colleagues ar members of, no informations are available for now.
Hard of a summary anyway, but amusing for sure, and one of the real storys behind, personally interpreted must be the Scientology lineup. Obviously "Frank Drebin" Nielsen had his very own opinion about, not taking serious his colleagues involved.
Funny at least.
